Murder Mystery 2 is a Roblox multiplayer mystery game where every round secretly assigns players different roles. Innocents must survive and figure out who the Murderer is, the Sheriff must identify the correct suspect, and the Murderer must avoid being discovered before the round ends. Explore different maps, collect coins, earn XP, unlock cosmetic items, and trade collectibles with other players between rounds.

• Standard – One player becomes the Murderer, one becomes the Sheriff, and everyone else becomes an Innocent. Survive, investigate suspicious players, and complete your role's objective before the round ends.
• Disguises – Uses the same basic roles as Standard, but players receive similar-looking disguises and alternate names during rounds, making it much harder to recognize everyone.
• Assassin – Every player receives a target while also being hunted by someone else. Successfully find your assigned targets while avoiding the player searching for you.
• Seasonal Modes – Special events can temporarily introduce additional maps, objectives, collectibles, and game-mode variations.

Each Standard or Disguises round assigns players a secret role with a different objective.

• Innocent – Stay alive, watch other players carefully, collect coins, and use clues from what happens around the map to determine who the Murderer is.
• Sheriff – Protect the Innocents and correctly identify the Murderer before the round ends.
• Murderer – Remain hidden among the other players while attempting to complete the Murderer objective without being identified.
• Hero – If the Sheriff is removed from the round, an Innocent can take over the Sheriff's responsibility. Successfully stopping the Murderer earns the Hero result.

Because roles are assigned randomly, each round can require a completely different strategy.

Before a new round begins, players can vote between three randomly selected maps. The map receiving the most votes becomes the location for the next mystery.

Coins appear throughout maps during regular rounds. Collect them while completing your role's objective and use them in the shop for additional content.

XP rewards vary depending on your role and how successfully you perform during the round.

Murder Mystery 2 has a large item-collecting system built around cosmetic versions of the game's role items.

Collectibles come in multiple rarity levels and can include:

• Event collectibles
• Limited-time cosmetics

Some items come from Mystery Boxes, seasonal events, special bundles, or other reward systems.

The game contains hundreds of collectible designs, giving players plenty of options for customizing their inventory and building a collection.

Eligible players can trade certain collectible items with one another.
